Pool Fence Gate-Sacramento, California

"Why would a baby gate be more reliable with a "U" shape frame versus a double pole gate format?". This is a tremendous question. The answer is physics. When a vertical force has continuous stress placed upon it over time it will begin to fatigue. Gravity has it's way of wearing most things down that carry a load (including parents...lol) . If there is a horizontal brace that is across the bottom of the frame, this allows for the vertical load to be offset exponentially. Mono frame (aka U frame) is simply a superior design format. Any engineer would agree that having that bottom bar is simply provides an extra layer of protection to insure the pool gate maintains it's structural integrity versus being dependent on the fence or another pole. Certainly one could play the devil's advocate and the argument could be made that "the bar that goes across the bottom will cause someone to trip". In the years that I have been in and around this industry, a customer has never called and said "take this U frame gate out, I don't want it as I keep tripping over it". The phone calls have come in stating "I have this gate from this other company and they (the installers of the fence and gate) have been out three times to adjust it and it keeps falling out of alignment can you install your mono-frame gate?" If the gate is out of alignment it will not close properly. If it does not close properly then an accident may occur. Would you rather possibly stub your toe when entering your pool that closes consistently or own a gate that does not close consistently due to the lack of integrity of the frame from the vertical weight? This is precisely why the mono-frame gate is the best selling baby gate on a domestic and global basis. Double pole gates are more cost effective to make or are "cheaper" and when it comes to pool safety, "cheaper" is probably not a good direction with precious lives at stake.

Pool Fence Cherry Hill, New Jersey

"How tall should the pool fence be?". This is the first question Mr. Simmons asked. The industry standard height is 4 feet tall. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a four foot fence with self-closing,self-latching and lockable baby gate. "Can I have a taller fence?" Certainly, we offer pool fence as tall as 5 feet tall. The key aspect of the fence is not only the height but also wehre you install the fence. All doors should be protected (as in, if a child comes out the door the fence is in between the door and the pool). If possible the same should apply to windows as children may wonder to an open window during summer (spring "air out" of the house from the long stuffy winter) and make a dash for the pool. The pool safety fence should stay up year round as a matter of safety. The baby gates can be made to match up with the height and color of the pool safety fence so the continuity is there from an aesthetic standpoint as well. The time of when you place your order until the pool safety fence is installed varies as some pool fence people have inventory of the top selling colors but if you request a special color, they may need to order it and that can take a week to receive. The turn around on standard colors is pretty fast unless the pool fence installer has a full schedule (this is usually a good sign as well during high season which is March through September).

Princeton, New Jersey

When it comes to pool safety, many home in our section of the country (Princeton, New Jersey) want products for their pools that are safe, reliable and from a company that knows the business. Most people purchase an automatic pool cover when they are building their pool however there is a segment that may purchase an automatic pool cover after they build the pool (budget plays a role). There are different levels of pool covers out on the market. There is the pin down safety pool cover for keeping kids, pets and leaves out of the pool. The next level up on the economic scale would be the semi-automatic pool cover. This is a lower price point than an automatic pool cover but still more than a pin down cover. The opening and closing of this type of cover is done with the use of a cordless drill. The premium level of automatic pool covers is the turn key and the pool cover opens model. All of these covers are ASTM certified, hence safe. The color variety is pretty standard for the pin down pool safety covers. They usually come in green, blue or black. The semi-automatic come in a wide array of colors as do the automatic pool covers. Certainly ask what color options are available...you may well be surprised by the number of colors we have to offer.

Washington, D.C

Pool fences have continued to increase in the marketplace in spite of the slower growth of new pools being built. The answer rings loud. The economy has forced consumer to be more cost efficient with the products they purchase. Not cheap, cost efficient. The price difference in an automatic pool cover and a pool fence is tremendous. The benefits are certainly as far apart as the pricing because a pool fence cannot retain the warmth from a pool heat pump (an automatic pool cover can) and a pool safety fence will certainly not keep leaves out (again, a pool cover will). So, depending on what the pool/homeowner needs and their budget, they may elect to go a more cost efficient route with a pool safety fence if their main and possibly only goal is pool safety. The task of finding a reputable company is one that should be approached with a check list. Do they have a product that has been on the market for a long time and is proven? What is their Angie's List rating? Does the person giving the estimate answer all of your questions without hesitation? Can they provide you with a list of references on jobs they did recently...and last year? Do they have the proper insurance? A better price may mean the pool fence company is cutting corners and you do not want to find out they do not have insurance when something happens on your property. Make sure you look at the quality of the fence and ask about the warranty (get the warranty in writing!). Keep your receipt with the warranty , this will help make any claim process easier. If the company has a great product and the dealer is solid, then none of these items should be an issue. Good luck and safe pooling!

Pool Cover New Orleans, LA

"I really want the automatic pool cover but how do I keep water from accumulating on top of the pool when it rains, after all then it becomes a pool on top of the pool right?" This was the first question Mr. Leroux asked...almost before hello. The answer is quite simple, every automatic pool cover comes with a pump that sits on top of the pool cover and has a sensor to activate it when water touches it to pump it off the automatic pool cover. "So to put the pump out on the cover, what do I do "cast" it out there and hope I hit the middle?" again, another seeminly tough question. All you need to do is walk out onto the automatic pool cover and place it in the center of the cover and when you are ready to take it off, you simply walk out and pick it up. "You can walk on this thing?" asked Leroux. These "things" can hold around 8-10 full grown adults...at the same time. The benefits of an automatic pool cover are fairly simple. They retain heat from the heat pump to keep the pool warm, they keep the pool safe and they keep debris out of the pool so that a flip of the switch you will have a pool that is swim ready.

Pool Safety Net Miami

When a customer calls to get their pool secured, the customer has an idea of what they want or has done some research so there is a good foundation already set for the discussion. In other situations the customer has not done research (or has and had no idea of what the solution may be). In this situation today, the customer had done research on pool safety, she had looked at pool fences and pool nets and contacted Pool Guard of Miami to get an estimate (really more of a solution based on the layout of the pools...yes pools as in more than one). The pool layout was one of direct access of a beach entry into the pool directly out of the main entertaining area so to have a pool safety fence directly in front of the door would obstruct the view. The other pool that was designed more for the kids had various objects built into the center of the pool so it could not use a pool safety net. The solution was to put a pool net over the beach entry style pool and the other pool for the kids was in need of a pool fence. As you can see, sometimes more than one product is needed on a single property to provide the proper safety and accomodate some aesthetic needs as well.

Pool Safety Charleston, South Carolina

Pool Guard of Charleston was contacted last week about removable pool fence for a customer that needed to meet code for their home owners association. "I don't want a fence but I have to be in compliance with the HOA " stated the owner. As the discussion progressed, Kris (owner of PG of Charleston) presented the owner with an alternative option which is a pool safety net. They set the time and date. After their meeting, the pool net was presented to the HOA along with the ASTM certification and the pool net was approved. "This is an exciting alternative for all of my neighbors as none of us like the pool safety fence or any kind of fence for that matter" stated the resident. There are many options that we provide for your pool safety ranging from pool covers, automatic pool covers, pool safety nets to pool safety fencing. We have a vast array of products to fit your pool safety needs and be in compliance with local laws.

Pool Fence Tampa, Florida

Often people believe that once they have had a swimming pool fence installed, they do not have to do anything else in order to keep the pool safe. There are several additional factors that you need to keep in mind no matter what the pool safety product you are protecting your pool with is. The first is to always keep toys out of the pool. A toy left in the pool may become a magnet to attract a child or children. If a child sees that toy, it may then become a object of desire for them to reach that toy and perhaps by any means necessary. Another great tip for your back yard is to leave your pool fence up all all times. "I just want to get a pool fence to pass inspection" is a common comment and this is where some tragedies occur. Having a pool safety fence is a law in Tampa (and all of Florida for that matter) and for good reason..."the protection of children that cannot protect themselves". Those same people would probably not drive around town with their child not wearing a seat belt, so why take a pool safety fence down that could create an equally tragic incident. The safest way to manage your pool is to keep toys out of the pool and leave the pool safety fence in.
